Meet the animals

We specialize in mixed-breed dog rescue, but we also rehome purebred dogs, cats, and other animals. See our list of animals awaiting homes here.

Who We Are

We are a group of friends dedicated to mixed breed dog rescue in northern California and around the world. Our mission is to help decrease pet overpopulation through our spay/neuter fund. In addition to mixed breed dogs, we occasionally have other animals available for adoption, including purebred dogs, cats and kittens, barnyard animals and others.

We do occasionally take in dogs, but when we can’t we are always willing to give advice and assistance where we can.

Adopting a Friend

All of our pets are up to date on vaccines and spayed/neutered, or arrangements to do so will be made. To our ability most of our animals are crate trained and housebroken. They live in a home environment, and are exposed to children, cats, dogs, etc.

While we don’t have a facility and all of our animals are in individual foster homes, we would love set up a time to have one of our pets be a potential new member of your family. So please call or email us: 707-350-7008 or info@specialpetsrescue.org.

If you don’t find your perfect companion here, please check out Lake County Animal Services for even more adoptable pets, or check out these other pet adoption resources.

Sydney loves the ladies! He would prefer to be the only guy in the house. Syd is a great dog and is cratetrained and housebroken, he enjoys hikes and walks very politely on a leash. Syd lives with a cat and other dogs and does well with big and small dogs. Syd would love a home with someone patient who can understand that he is easily overwhelmed by new things, he enjoys going out and being active and would do great with another dog as a companion. Give this sweet handsome guy a second chance at life he really is a goofball once you get to know him.

Reba is 9 years old weighing in at a trim 35lbs! She's bright, cuddly, and full of energy; just wait 'till you see her barrell into your lap for belly rubs at a full sprint! Reba has been looking for a home since her owner passed away in March. She has stolen a few hearts since then, but due to her strong opinions about other animals and food, Reba must be in a single-pet household, no exceptions. All of us at Laguna absolutely adore this girl, but hospital living is not for her. If you are interested in meeting this personable pup, please give us a call at (707) 528-1448, or simply stop by!
